The Folklore Museum and Archive was founded by the Presidential Decree (P.D. nr. 89, issue nr. 30/3-12-1977).
The FMUI aims at: "the teaching and training of students, the protection and conservation of the existing objects and their methodic exhibition, the organization and systematic enrichment of its collection". The Folklore Museum is supervised and functions under the responsibility of the Folklore Section of the Department of History and Archeology of the University of Ioannina . The Commission consisting of three members of the scientific staff of the section shares part of the responsibility for the conservation of the collection, its enrichment, its functioning, etc. |
